Got close to one final table but flipped out of it. I just chilled the rest of the night with my girlfriend, enjoying the mountains.
Spilled coffee all over my desk. Now the keyboard on my laptop doesn’t work. Had to go grab a USB keyboard. Run bad officially used up

Was slaloming down this hill on my Casterboard. All the sudden school gets out and 300 kids pour on the sidewalk. I can’t slalom.
I have to go straight down the hill. Kids look at me like I’m crazy because of the speed I’m going at. I barely squeeze between two cars.
Finally get open road and try to slow down slaloming again. I’m going too fast. The rubber on the wheels burns, then flies off. I eat $#!T.
Took another shower. About to start grinding. Happy just to be in one piece and good enough to grind. Man…that fall was intense.

Took a night and day off for myself so I could be refreshed before Saturday/Sunday super grind. Def wasn’t happy with my performance in 100r
Last night I watched Rango. Man, I loved every minute of watching that little lizard go. Seriously great movie to see if you want to smile.
Feeling refreshed from yesterday. Went to a public pool called “Eye of Water.” Jumped off the high dive into 100% pure mountain water.
Then I fell asleep underneath a tree with my girlfriend laying on my stomach. Sun felt so nice. Some ducks walked inches by us going “huh?”
Found a mall here that was still playing “The Fighter.” My god, was that movie inspiring. Got me really pumped up to play today.
I’ve got a few minutes to write before I have to go play the Saturday schedule. I feel like every minute I’m not grinding with this double guarantee week is a couple bucks lost. This is really dangerous thinking, because I can end up doing nothing but grinding.
I really needed time apart from the grind before this weekend, so I took a night off and a day for myself. I took half a day off earlier in the week but that was more of an accident. I got stuck in traffic during some errands and just decided eff it, let’s explore San Jose till this clears up.
This dangerous thinking keeps creeping up into me. I have a good time to write and just no energy. I just want to turn my head off and go grind, but that’s not acceptable.
This last week I’ve just been obsessed with doing things every day. I’m really enjoying my work and everything, but I feel like I’m not balancing things well. Jack told me I should create a schedule. Obviously, schedule’s are hard in my line of work, given you don’t know how long anything will take, so we settled on an outline.
I’m going to try setting goals which will be semi-difficult to achieve but aren’t impossible. Once you achieve a list of goals then you can add, because you’re feeling good and capable.
I guess a lot of this is needed because of how worn out I felt during the 100r. I did school some players, but I also was spewy and terrible in so many spots. I haven’t played that bad in a while. It’s funny, because sober I feel so competitive and critical of my game. When I was stoned all the time I never was like this. So many guys who blaze all the time just drift in this game. It’s sucks I wasted so much time doing it, because on the outside looking in…it’s scary stuff. I would have just written off much of what I did during that tournament, but now…I’m so critical.
So goals for next week:
- 2 Spanish lessons
- 3 work outs at the gym
- 3 runs
- Outline fixed/1 hour of concept video done/all Pokerpwnage videos sent
- Some type of post every day for Pokerheadrush.com
- 8,000 words written in the book
- 4 lessons done
- Play Sundays
- Play a few hours of cash to get back into the habit
- Three hours of study
And of course, I’m going to play cards, probably more than what I wrote there, but the idea to get good flexible goals you can achieve, and then get to those goals.
I feel refreshed today, I gotta admit that. Despite my allergies. God bless how my girlfriend takes care of me. She planned a whole day yesterday for us. I wouldn’t have time to plan anything.
I really am just feeling anxious to play right now as I write this. That’s so nice. For years before..
